UPDATE ON PRACTICE MATCHES.

24 Mar 2019 by CLUB ADMIN

> Last Wednesday evening the vets had a hit out against Healesville at Healesville. They fell short by roughly 3 goals, but have a lot of new faces so still getting used to playing with each other. We’re expecting another strong year for the old dogs.

> Senior women had a solid win against East Ringwood at Healesville. Lots of new faces in the team and good signs.

> U19s came up against a very strong Park Orchards unit and were well beaten. We have a young side with lots to learn and no doubt take lessons into next week and beyond.

> Slow start by the reserves with a number of fill ins due to absences. Took more control as the game progressed and came away with a win. We could do with a few numbers so if anyone looking for a game please get to training or speak with the coaching staff.

> Seniors came up against a spirited and youthful Park Orchards team, playing their last practice match and they took it right up to us in the first quarter. Our lads are still fine tuning the game plan and with some notable absences, we started to hit our straps towards the end of the second term. In the second half our class started to come to the fore – particularly in the last quarter when we kicked into a strong breeze and held the opposition goalless. A ten goal win.

Last chance for the men’s teams next Saturday in what will be a big day at Cheong – 3 games; all grades.

Our senior women will be playing 3 games in their lightning premiership also on Saturday at Templestowe.

Everyone is expected back at the club for a jumper presentation evening – all welcome.

The season proper for the men starts on April 6, but the women will have one more practice match on April 13 against Park Orchards at Domeney Reserve.
