It is with great sadness that we let you know Life Member Marion Reynolds peacefully passed away surrounded by her family last Saturday.
Marion and Brian Reynolds were foundation members of the South Croydon FC when it started in 1969. The Reynolds, along with the Connell and Hartley families came as a ‘package deal’ from the Ringwood FC when Bernie Whitney was appointed as our inaugural coach.
In the early days of our club Marion was always first to offer help and enjoyed many years organizing the club social functions.
She was a long serving committee member and was club Secretary from 1988 through to 1994. During the early 1980’s Marion organized Bingo games which became a major income source for the club. Marion also ran the match day canteen over many years.
Over the last 25 years Marion and Brian moved to Camperdown, but they always maintained a strong connection to our club and followed our results weekly.
Marions dedication and commitment to the South Croydon Football Club over almost 30 years helped make us the club we are today.
Our sincere condolences go out to the entire Reynolds clan.
The funeral service for Marion will be held at 1pm on Friday the 18th of October at Reid Stockfeeds Function Centre, Adeney Street, Camperdown.
